A summary of the graduate studies in the department
About Postgraduate Studies:
Postgraduate studies were introduced in the Department of Petroleum Technology in the academic year 2014/2015 due to the department's need for rare specializations in the field of oil engineering to prepare staff specialized in field work and to keep abreast of developments in the oil industry where the department grants a master’s degree in petroleum engineering
Postgraduate studies were introduced for the following reasons:
First - The great scarcity in preparing graduates with a master’s degree in petroleum engineering, with the increasing need in Iraqi universities for teaching staff in the specialization.
Second - The increase in demand for oil engineering specialization in the labor market by the ministries (Ministry of Oil, Ministry of Higher Education).
Third: Enhancing the financial materials of the department from the students accepted at private expense in addition to making use of the contracts for their dissertations with the Ministry of Oil in strengthening the laboratory equipment.
Objectives of the study :
First - The study aims to prepare graduates with a master's degree in petroleum engineering to supply Iraqi universities and the oil industry with qualified engineering cadres according to modern scientific concepts in the oil and gas industry.
Second - Upgrading the student’s scientific and teaching level in the field of specialization and maintaining communication with international universities and research centers.
Third - Developing scientific research to serve the oil industry in the university and the department.
Fourth - Enhancing communication with oil institutions.
