The Petroleum Engineers Association is organizing the third petro Iraq competition at the University of Technology

 

Under the auspices of the president of  University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir and oil engineers society global / baghdad branch of society of  petroleum engineers organized a third  contest petro Iraq and with the participation of petroleum engineering departments in Iraqi Universities on Sunday 18/3/2018at university theater in the presence of a large number of teachers, associates and students.

The competition began with the national anthem and read from the Holy Quran and  Al-Fatiha on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq , then the president  of university delivered a speech in which he said: "Higher education depends on three pillars: the teaching staff, the curriculum, the student, and the university has a plan to encourage students in this competition we are encouraging the student to continue the educational process and the university must have a unified vision towards specialization oil as the artery of the national economy as is well known the university of technology pioneered in this area through the establishment of the petroleum technology department and the opening of the evening study, which saw great interest by students, which indicates the country's orientation towards this trend, calling in this competition to the fair competition between the different Iraqi university students .. "

After that the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Shakir Ghani Al-Adili , spoke about the importance of the scientific competition in finding the intermixing between all Iraqi universities and creating a good opportunity for the cooperation of students and the honest competition among them as well as the development of their abilities and their scientific and self-skills , These competitions develop the ideas of the university student in the field of specialized specialization, thanks to all those who contributed to the success of this competition.

Al-Farabi University won the first place and the Koya University came in the second place, while the University of Baghdad was ranked as third place, at the end, the President of the Association of International Petroleum Engineers / Baghdad Branch, Dr. Karam Alwan distributed awards to the first three winners and distributed certificates of participation for all contestants.

The participants in the competition were nine Iraqi Universities in oil engineering: University of Kirkuk, Farabi University, University of Maysan, Baghdad University, University of Technology, University of Koya, Dhi Qar University, Basra University of oil and gas, University of Basra.
