A delegation from Al-Kitab National University, headed by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Sabah Muhammad Jalil, visited the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering on Sunday, 3/10/2024, and was received by the Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem and Assistant Head of the Department for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadhim Al-Rubaie and a number of the department’s teachers. During the visit, the signing of a memorandum of understanding for joint scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities was discussed in a way that serves the interests of both parties, and through the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem expressed his happiness with the visit of the Al-Kitab University delegation, hoping that relations between the two universities would witness continued development.
As part of the National Afforestation Day campaign, students and members of the department, under the direct supervision of the head of the department, A. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem made awareness-raising posters about the environment and planted seedlings in front of the department building and in the branch’s gardens on Tuesday, 3/12/2024, in the presence of the department head, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem, the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadhim Al-Rubaie, and the administrative assistant, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem. The Oil and Gas Engineering Department/Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held an awareness symposium entitled: (Iraq and the War on Terrorism - The Role of Financial Institutions in Combating Terrorist Financing) on Wednesday, 3/20/2024, in the Okaz Hall in the department building, in the presence of the Scientific Assistant, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadhim Al-Rubaie, the head of the branch, Prof. Imad Abdul Hussein Fakher, the department rapporteur, Dr. Muayyad Muhammad Hassan, and a number of teaching staff and associates.The symposium lecture was given by Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Wahab Ati, in which he spoke about the dangerous phenomenon of terrorism that affects all societies, including Iraq, and how the Iraqi government combated terrorism in all its forms and methods of financing it.
Under the slogan of the campaign (Healing and Mercy), Al Ain Foundation for Social Welfare, in cooperation with the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering, organized an introductory seminar on the Foundation’s activities and services on Thursday, 3/28/2024, in one of the halls of the branch building, in the presence of a large number of department students.The symposium lecture was given by Mr. Ihsan Alaa Abdul Hussein, Director of Public Relations at Al Ain Foundation / Karrada Branch, in which he spoke about the importance of the services provided by the Foundation to various segments of society, especially orphans, widows, and children from needy families who suffer from cancer, as this symposium is part of the Foundation’s annual campaigns during the month of Holy Ramadan in order to support children with cancer, build health centers in Baghdad, and provide health care for orphans and widows.
The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering hosted the Ministerial Engineering Committee for Diploma Equivalency, in the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, and the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem and all members of the Ministerial Committee, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in the halls of the department building, where the Ministerial Committee interviewed the students to equalize their academic certificates and complete dozens of files in various engineering specializations.

Engineer Mustafa Muhammad Kazem gave a lecture that included two topics. The first topic included a lecture on how to plan a CCP career path, while the second topic included a technical lecture related to midstream surface production facilities.This symposium aims to educate the department’s students about the importance of starting professional steps, as well as developing their practical skills and enhancing their chances of obtaining suitable jobs after graduation.
The Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Service/Scientific Evaluation Department and the Ministerial Programming Team from Al-Mustansiriya University, in cooperation with Assyria University, held a workshop today, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the headquarters of Assyria University, attended by private colleges and some government colleges, to explain the working mechanism of the scientific expert system and how to include teaching professors in universities. All holders of academic titles are eligible to be among the system’s experts for evaluating university theses, dissertations, and dissertations, to be an integral part of the system of university experts in Iraq.

As part of the national afforestation campaign and in continuation of the volunteer campaigns held by the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and under the direct supervision of the Department Head, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem, the students and staff of the department carried out a volunteer campaign that included painting the facade of the buildings opposite the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering. The campaign will also include planting in the coming days.
